Custom-made footwear manufactured by Hi Tech Canadian Custom Shoe Lab are  prescribed by foot care specialists to relieve sensitive feet; reduce pressure points; minimize shearing and friction; improve balance; speed post-surgical rehabilitation; and enhance ambulation.

In fact any foot not anatomically "regular" in size, shape or biomechanical function or one suspected of contributing to a disorder resulting from diabetes, arthritis, or other pathology - is a candidate for the fit. How our Custom Shoes are made:

When a client arrives, style considerations are discussed. Then detailed measurements and 3-dimensional casts are taken of the feet.

The first step to an accurate fit for all custom-made orthopaedic footwear is making of the last (foot mold).

The footwear is then drawn and a pattern made. The leather is cut and the upper sewn, then stretched over and nailed to the last. The soles are glued and sewn on and finished by attaching the heels. Only the finest quality full grain leather is used and available in a variety of colours and textures.

Unlike "off-the-shelf" footwear, custom-made footwear are constructed only after the client’s feet have been properly measured and thoroughly analyzed.
